Cajun Seasoning Recipes
Cajun Fish Tacos with Smokey Lime Slaw
Type: Entrée
Servings: 6 Tacos
· 6 tortillas (any kind)
· 2 mild fish fillets (cod, mahi mahi, sea bass, tuna)
· 1 T. olive oil
· 1.5 T. Mrs. Spice Cajun Seasoning
· ¼ head cabbage (red or green)
· 2 T. packed leaves of cilantro
· 3 T. mayonnaise
· 1 pinch sugar or sweetener of choice
· 1 pinch salt
· 1 pinch smoked paprika
· Juice of half a lime
· 1 avocado
· Cotija or queso fresco cheese (optional)
1. Begin by making the smokey lime slaw. Slice the ¼ head of cabbage into fine shreds, and place in a bowl. Finely chop the cilantro leaves and add to the cabbage. Mix mayonnaise, sugar, salt, smoked paprika and lime juice ingredients until cabbage is lightly coated in mayonnaise, which should take on an orange hue from the paprika. Put the slaw in the fridge until you’re ready to serve the tacos.
2. For the fish, place the oil in a heavy pan and heat until it shimmers (begins to glisten and ripples), close to smoking. Rub the fish fillets with the Cajun spice, covering the outsides. Place the fillets in the pan, cooking approximately three minutes on both sides, until the seasoning begins to blacken, and internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit. While fish is cooking, cut avocado into slices or chunks, and arrange tortillas.
3. Cut fish fillets into chunks/shreds and place a third of a fillet onto each tortilla. Top with slaw, avocado, and cheese, if using. Makes 6 tacos. Enjoy!
Cajun Seasoning Dip
· 1 cup mayonnaise
· 8 oz. container sour cream
· 1.5 T. Mrs. Spice Cajun Seasoning
1. Mix all ingredients together in a medium bowl. The dip is ready to eat immediately, but refrigerating the dip for 1 hour before serving lets the flavors infuse. Delicious with chips, pretzels, and raw vegetables. Enjoy!
Caribbean Seasoning Recipes
Caribbean Tangy BBQ Sauce • 1 cup ketchup • ½ cup brown sugar • 1/3 cup white vinegar • ¼ cup orange juice • 1.5 T Mrs. Spice Caribbean Jerk Seasoning • A few drops of liquid smoke (optional) 1. Add all ingredients to a small sauce pot and mix together. 2. Heat mixture on medium low heat until steaming and just starting to bubble 3. Use immediately or store in fridge for up to 2 months. Delicious on meats, tofu, and anywhere you use BBQ sauce. Enjoy!
Caribbean Jerked Tofu
· 1 block of firm or extra firm tofu
· 1.5 T. Mrs. Spice Caribbean Jerk seasoning
· 1-2 T. neutral oil (olive, vegetable, peanut, etc.)
· ½-¾ cup Caribbean Tangy BBQ Sauce (optional)
1. Remove the tofu from its packaging and press it. This can be done by wrapping paper towels or tea towel around the tofu and placing it between two plates (one on top, one on bottom). Books or other heavy items can be added to the top to press it even more. Leave the tofu like this for 20-30 minutes.
2. Slice the tofu into cubes or desired shape. Put tofu in a container or bowl and drizzle the olive oil over it. Sprinkle Mrs. Spice Caribbean Jerk seasoning over the tofu and mix or shake until the tofu is covered.
3. The tofu can be cooked immediately, but will be better if it sits in the marinade in the fridge for 1-24 hours. When you are ready to cook it, the tofu can be cooked several ways. It can be sauteed in a pan on medium high heat until crispy. If cooking in an air fryer, add the tofu to the basket and cook at 400° for 10-15 minutes. The tofu can also go into a 400° oven for about 30 minutes.
4. After the tofu is cooked, we recommend tossing it briefly in or drizzling over Mrs. Spice Caribbean Tangy BBQ Sauce. Delicious over rice or on a salad. Enjoy!
Italian Seasoning Recipes
Italian Bread Dip
Type: Condiment
· ¾ cup light tasting oil (olive, canola, grapeseed, sunflower, etc.)
· ¼ cup vinegar (we recommend white wine vinegar or red wine vinegar, but nearly any type should work well)
· 1.5 T. Mrs. Spice Italian Seasoning
· Red pepper flakes (optional)
1. Mix all ingredients together in a carafe, bottle, or jar. For a little spice, add red pepper flakes to taste. The dip is ready to use immediately, but letting the dip sit before serving for half an hour or so allows the flavors to infuse. Shake or whisk immediately before serving. Enjoy!
Italian Chicken Marinade
Type: Condiment
· 4 chicken breasts or 6 thighs
· ¾ cup light tasting oil (light olive, canola, grapeseed, sunflower)
· 1.5 T. Mrs. Spice Italian Seasoning
· Juice of one lemon
1. Pour all ingredients into a zipper bag and mix thoroughly. Place the chicken in the bag and seal, trying to get as much air out of the bag as possible. Massage the bag so that the marinade comes into contact with as much chicken as possible. Place in refrigerator for 1 – 24 hours.
2. When ready to cook, take the bag out of the refrigerator and allow the chicken to raise slightly in temperature. Heat a skillet to medium-high heat. Once heated, place breasts in skillet and cook on one side until browned, then flip and brown the other side. Serve when internal temperature is 165 F (inside will be white). Delicious with a starch and vegetables or on a salad. Enjoy!

Shake or whisk immediately before serving. Note: Dijon mustard is entirely optional, but may add some depth to the flavor. If you prefer a sweeter dressing, you could also add a little honey. Enjoy!

Roasted Potato Seasoning Recipes
Crispy Roasted Potatoes
Type: Side Dish
Servings: 3-4
· 0.75 lbs. (2 -2.5 c.) Chopped Yukon Gold or Red Potatoes
· 2 T. Oil (we prefer olive oil, but vegetable, canola, etc all work well)
· 1-1.5 T. Mrs. Spice Roasted Potato Seasoning (more or less to taste)
1. Preheat your oven to 400°. Pour the oil into a 9x13 metal pan and put the pan in the oven. For crispy potatoes, it is important to make sure that the oil is hot before you add the potatoes. If at any point, you notice the oil smoking, turn your oven down until it stops smoking.
2. Chop the potatoes into bite or dice-sized pieces and place in medium pot of boiling water for 5-7 minutes Make sure potatoes are covered fully by the water. Note: Boiling the potatoes is optional, but adds creaminess to the potatoes. If this step is skipped, potatoes may need to roast for longer in the oven.
3. Once the potatoes have boiled for the preferred length of time, strain the potatoes, and add them carefully to the hot oil. Please note that the oil will likely splatter a little. While this is what we want because it means the oil is hot enough, please take precautions when adding the potatoes.
4. Put the pan back in the oven and bake for 40-50 minutes, stirring occasionally, until desired crispiness is met. Once finished, remove the potatoes from the oven. Sprinkle Mrs. Spice Roasted Potato Seasoning and mix together. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
